Main research areas
The aim of the course is to provide information about our oral and written culture, secondary orality, reading as a psychological skill from the point of social psychological and anthropological view. Ability to manage various conflicts, to plan and contribute to bibliotherapy sessions, to design curricula and instructions suitable for the development level of children and young adult library visitors.
The course introduces students to the areas, terminology and methodology of sociology and education that affect the practice and development of reading and reading comprehension. The course develops the students’ critical thinking, debate and communication skills to solve the revealed problems together. The students become aware of the different learning resources and acquainted with the influence of different learning environments on learning effectiveness. They will be familiar with the main issues of differential pedagogy and adaptive learning organisation and with the selection and use of educational and teaching strategies and methods.
