Main research areas
My main research interest is the educational capacities of e-learning, with a special focus on the efficiency of e-learning functions, the role of the teacher and facilitor, the effificiency of different task types in Learning Management Systems, and the design of e-learning courses. I also do research on the roles and training of facilitators in the online environment, the ideal ratio of methodology and technology related skills, and the effect of facilitation on learner motivation.
The basic premise of our research is to examine the extent to which challenge-based and problem-based learning supports language acquisition and what effect it has on motivation and autonomous learning. The purpose of our data collected in higher education is to examine what challenge-based language learning strategies help university students in the autonomous acquisition of professional language use.
