political communication

In modern political communication I am primarily interested in speeches and in the representations of politics in the media. I pay special attention to the impacts of the sharing of politics on the contents of politics and the interaction between media and politics as part of this impact. The problem of style in political communication as a factor in the making of politics is also part of my focus.

modern rhetoric

My researche in rhetoric targets the ethical aspects of argumentation, the implicit normativity of topi and names, the demarcation between transparent and manipulating forms of persuasion, as well as the cooperative elements of interpreting messages. I am also interested in some of the related aspects in the philosophy of language, primarily Brandom's and Grice's observations of normativity.

political philosophy

My research interest focuses primarily on topics of modern philosophy, which have played a role in the development of political and ethical thought. Accordingly, the philosophy of Locke and Hobbes are central in my field of interest. Rawls and Habermas are my main references from the twentieth century.
