Cultural metaphors of natural sites in Russian language

One of the important questions in linguistics is the extent to which language is universal and culture-specific, a question that has become increasingly important in recent times. While much research is looking for the same or similar forms of expression in different languages, that is, forms of expression that can be traced back to the same conceptual structures, there is equal interest in conceptual differences and their roots in environmental and cultural differences. In recent years, the exploration of the various archaic texts and folklore products (folk tales, proverbs, folk songs) of peoples and cultures has become increasingly topical, and the research of these texts from a linguistic perspective has moved beyond the ethnographic approach. Folk songs, folktales, proverbs, as representations of folklore cultural conceptualisation, carry an archaic layer of a linguistic community's worldview, beliefs and values.  Folk songs thus reflect the relationship of people living in traditional peasant communities to the world. The metaphors that can be found in folk songs provide insights into the cultural cognitive activity of communities, both in the representation of the entities they use as sources and through the life situations they conceptualise.
