German phonetics

The subject of research conducted in phonetics includes the overall process of the expressive and receptive aspects of speech, including the neuropsychological bases of discourse planning, the acoustic form of the speech signal and the processing of speech resonances. My research extends to the phonetic examination of the different variants of German language, their primary field of examination is the acoustic manifestation of the speech signal, inter alia, with the purpose of demonstrating the phenomena of interferences among languages.

German and comparative dialectology

Dialects in German language are not marginalised language variants since they had been the exclusive forms of language actively used by the majority of native German speakers until the late-19th century. The studies concerning German dialects and especially the dialects of ethnic Germans in Hungary put a special emphasis on the contrastive examination of the phonetics and phonology of dialects in the context of standard German and dialects, as well as variants of German and Hungarian language.

Use of minority languages and language policy

Research examines the role and history of national minorities in Europe with the analysis of the development tendencies in the last decades, while also considering the historical development of certain autochtonous communities. One of the primary questions analysed is the impact of language policy and minority rights frameworks of certain regions and states.
