Teaching library

Libraries should be a gateway to knowledge, and information resources that provides a basic condition for lifelong learning, independent decision-making, and cultural development. The prominent role of libraries, especialy school libraries, is to develop reading, inquiry-based learning, critical thinking skills, digital competencies, media and information literacy skills within the framework of library programs or formal education. Primarily school libraries, academic libraries, and public libraries are required to offer a wide range of educational programs. The research focuses on planning, leading, and managing library programs, and creating information environment.

Knowledge organization, subject representation

The continuous growth of recorded knowledge and information requires that the theory, methods, and tools of knowledge organization should also be continuosly developed. The basis for information seeking is the creation of surrogate records, and especially subject representation of information sources. The aim of the research is to examine how existing processes and tools can respond to the change and growth of scientific knowledge, the emergence of new documents and forms of communication, and what are the possible directions of development.
