Local and family history and population history in Hungary in the 18th-20th centuries, microhistory. History of the Germans in Hungary
The aim of my research is the everyday life and mentality of people who lived in Hungary in the 19th and 20th centuries, to understand their life strategies and family relationships. To do this, I create a location-specific picture of the changes in the basic factors of the population primarily through the methods of historical demography: births, marriages, deaths and migration. Then, building on this, I try to grasp the causes and circumstances of the human decisions behind the processes of popular movements, by delving into the inner spheres of individual families of the past. I continue my research from a micro-historical perspective by examining the former population of a Swabian village in Fejér County, Szár.
