I examine the scholastic reception of Aristotle's Politics from two point of view. First, what was the reason of its translation to Latin? Second, what political topics was it applied to in the middle and the second half of the 13th century?

I investigate the development of the medieval Hungarian historiography, first of all its western sources and Simon of Kéza.

history of hungarian humanism

I analyse the end of the first period of the Hungarian humanism, specifically the intellectual and political tole played by Janus Pannonius, John of Zredna ("Vitéz"), and their distant relative and client, Péter Garázda, in the reign of King Mathias of Hungary.
