Main research areas
Indo-European comparative linguistics
My main field of research is Indo-European comparative linguistics, with special emphasis on the historical grammar and the history of the Indo-Aryan languages, Greek and Latin, as well as the syntax of Latin. One of my central research topics is the phenomenon of the so-called light verb constructions, particularly in ancient Indo-European languages and Proto-Indo-European, especially with regard to their relation to simple verbs and their function within the language system as a whole. Another important research topic of mine is the gradation and comparison in Latin from a typological perspective.
