Main research areas
My research investigates the function of the inner fortresses of late Roman Pannonia, the system of military supply, and the archaeological and epigraphic aspects of the military history of the Limes, complemented by the philological research of the sources mentioning the period (Ammianus Marcellinus, Notitia Dignitatum).
In my research, within the theme of Roman Imperial art, I am carrying out a comprehensive interpretation and processing of wall paintings, parade armour, gemstones and gemstone imitations coming from archaeological excavations, private collections or other sources, mainly from an iconographic, functional, social etc. point of view.
My research explores the social, economic, religious, and administrative aspects of the Latin inscriptions of the Roman Empire, with a special focus on the monuments of the provinces, especially Pannonia.
My research involves the archaeological analysis of the triple settlement complex of Brigetio (legionary fortress, military town, civilian town), mainly through the results of the planned excavations of the civilian town and the inscriptions of the different social strata and public buildings (e.g. amphitheatre).
