My general field of research is French literature of the 18th century, especially the history of French novel, its reception, major trends, characteristic works, and relationship between text and illustration. French literature of the last third of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century.

In my research, I examine how the official perception of the 18th-century French novel is changing in the light of the genre's growing popularity, and the relationship between 17th- and 18th-century novel theory: what are the unchanged and new critical aspects of the novel.
