Between 2015 and 2019, I participated in the editing of the Hungarian-Slovenian dictionary. The dictionary was compiled in collaboration with Eötvös Loránd University and Akadémiai Kiadó. Dictionary is the largest collection of Hungarian-Slovenian vocabulary. It contains nearly 75 000 dictionary entries. The purpose of the dictionary is to help language learners as well as users of Hungarian nationality in Slovenia and Slovenian nationality in Hungary. The enlargement of the dictionary continued in 2020, in the new lexicographic project I deal with the addition of dictionary entries and the creation of new entries.

My research focuses on the history of the Slovak and Slovenian literary languages, including the issue of literary languages in the Lutheran Slovak parishes of Békés County and the Slovenian parishes of Prekmurje. Until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, the two ethnic groups lived in one state and their parishes belonged to the Hungarian Lutheran Church.

The language usage habits of Lutheran Slovenians in Prekmurje and Slovaks in Békés County were significantly different before the end of the World War I. The Slovaks of Békés County settled in the Great Plain in the 18th century and used the biblical Czech literary language. In contrast, the Slovenians in Prekmurje had their own literary language after Števan Küzmics had translated the New Testament into the local dialect in 1771. Using the methodology of historical sociolinguistics, I want to answer that which factors influenced spreading of central literary languages in pheripherial areas such as Békés County or Prekmurje.
