Fantastic Literature

In addition to theories of fantastic literature, I am interested in the borderlands of fantasy (science fiction, dystopias, magical realism, detective stories, etc.). I study texts of fantastic literature from a semiotic and postcultural perspective, with a special focus on Spanish-American fiction.

Spanish American Vanguard and Neovanguard Poetry

In recent years, after the historical avant-garde poetry of Spanish-America, my interest has increasingly turned towards neo-avant-garde poetics and contemporary poetry. My textual interpretations focus mainly on the examination of modern Spanish American poetic discourses, the relationship between the lyric subject and the environment, and metapoetic procedures, among others from the perspectives of intersubjectivity, decoloniality, and postcultural theories.

Spanish American Literature

My research focuses mainly on modern Spanish American literature, but I have also studied literature from earlier periods. In addition to structuralist narratology, I have primarily taken a literary semiotic approach to the texts of Spanish American authors. In order to broaden the horizons of poetic readings, some interpretations of the works often require the inclusion of poststructuralist and postmodern theories (deconstruction, hermeneutics, posthumanity, biopoetics, decoloniality, etc.). My publications have appeared in Spanish and Hungarian.
