Translation studies is a distinct interdisciplinary field of study that examines the outcomes, processes, actors and functions of linguistic mediation in its broadest sense, taking into account all linguistic and non-linguistic factors involved in the process of translation and interpretation. Within translation studies, my own research focuses on quality assurance issues in machine and human translation from the perspectives of translation pedagogy, post-editing and revision, and the so-called universals of translation.
