Main research areas
early modern legal history
My research examines certain aspects of early modern Hungarian legal history in Transylvania, such as plwsgw, litigation and criminal procedure, through the parallel application of historical and legal methodologies and perspectives. I also focus on social history issues and phenomena that can be nuanced, clarified or reinterpreted through legal history studies (e.g., the stratification of Székely society or customs in connection with inheritance). Archival research is fundamental to my work as it enables me to gain a deeper understanding of legal institutions that were previously little known or only superficially understood.
