Translation studies

My research focuses on the process and pedagogy of translation and interpreting (language mediation), the identity of the translator/interpreter, her competences, role in society, and the evolution we can observe in the process of language mediation and the role of the translator/interpreter.

participant-oriented studies in translation studies

Participant-oriented research in translation studies focuses on the experiences, perspectives, and practices of the individuals involved in translation—such as translators, interpreters, clients, and end-users. This approach aims to understand translation processes and outcomes by centering the voices and lived experiences of participants rather than just analyzing texts or products. Methods often include interviews, surveys, ethnographic observations, and think-aloud protocols, allowing researchers to explore the cognitive, social, and contextual factors that shape translation decisions and workflows. This approach helps capture the complexity and variability of real-world translation activities.
