The Conference on „Museums in Higher Education will be held for the first time, initiated by lecturers from the School of English and American Studies at Eötvös Loránd University. The organizers aim to create a meeting opportunity for educators and researchers who use museum resources in their work.
The conference is intended to support the exchange of best practices, the identification of shared interests, and the strengthening of partnerships between universities and museums. Its aim is to enrich the use of museum resources in higher education, enhancing both subject knowledge and student learning experiences.
Why “Museums and the Humanities”?
Museums offer a wealth of resources—both physical and digital—that can be used in teaching and research. These include exhibition content, guided tours, specialized educational materials, and a wide range of digital resources.
Proposals are welcome from all disciplines and research fields within the humanities, including but not limited to:
- cultural studies
- (applied) linguistics
- pedagogy and language pedagogy
- literary studies
- media studies
- communication studies
- film studies
- anthropology
- philosophy
- aesthetics
- historical studies
- archaeology
Proposal Formats
Submissions are encouraged that present theories, methods, analyses, empirical research, or best practices. Proposals may be submitted in one of the following formats:
- 20-minute presentations: Theoretical or empirical research
- 5-minute pitches: Roundtable sessions for sharing and discussing new ideas
- 60-minute workshops
Presentations and proposals may be submitted in English or Hungarian. Contributions are welcome from all university departments.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstracts may be submitted via Microsoft Forms.
