Main research areas
Italian Medieval Philology
In my research, I examine the history of the observant movement in the fifteenth century, with a particular focus on female literacy in Central Italy and the codex copying work carried out in the nunneries. The focus of my research is the role of the Italian Poor Clare communities in the spread of religious literary culture in the Late Middle Ages; the subject of my investigation is women's writing and copying activity in the scriptoria.
