shamanism, tengrism, mythical creatures of Volga-Turks, tale-theory, Old-Turkic runiform sources

I have four main research areas. 1) the religious forms of the Eastern Old Turks (shamanism, Tengrism, totemism) and their survival among the Turkic peoples; 2) the beliefs of the Volga Turks (Chuvash, Tatars and Bashkirs) in the 19th-20th centuries; 3. the theory of fairy tales, including the development of the fairy tale and its main structural features; 4) the philological analysis of sources written in Old Turkic runic script.
