Administrative History of the Habsburg Monarchy and Kingdom Hungary in the Early Modern

One of the main focuses of my research is the history of the offices of the central government of the early modern Habsburg Monarchy and the Kingdom of Hungary. In addition to the reconstruction of office functioning, special emphasis is placed on the study of the composition of the early modern civil service, its educational background, official career and career opportunities. The fragmentary nature of the source material makes the use of a prosopographical approach inevitable.

Early modern church and social history: students from Jesuit grammar schools

The other focus of my research is the early modern Catholic Church and social history in the Kingdom of Hungary, especially in the West-Hungarian region. In addition to the study of certain strata of ecclesiastical society, I am primarily interested in certain aspects of early modern secondary education, the social composition of the students of Jesuit grammar schools, their career opportunities and the social utility of education.
